The Fafaraway Travel Reading Retreat isn’t just another vacation – it’s the getaway you’ve been screenshotting for your vision board. For 5 glorious nights aboard Virgin Voyages’ stunning Scarlet Lady, you’ll join a community of fellow book enthusiasts sailing from Miami to the sun-drenched shores of Puerto Plata and Bimini.

What makes us different? We’ve created the perfect balance: plenty of dedicated “me time” for diving into those buzzy titles everyone’s posting about, mixed with curated literary events and the freedom to enjoy all the luxuries of an adults-only cruise. Do I need to be a serious reader to enjoy this retreat?

Not at all! Whether you devour every literary release or just enjoy the occasional BookTok recommendation, this retreat is for anyone who enjoys books and craves a relaxing escape with like-minded women.

What’s Not Included?

• Flights and transportation to/from the airport are not included.
• I will be offering a group rate at a hotel in Miami for a one-night pre-cruise stay at an additional fee.
• On the ship, alcohol is not included. Select entertainment and menu items are available for additional fees. Basic wifi is included, but premium wifi is available for an additional fee.
• At our ports of call, excursions are available for an additional fee. There will be one excursion suggested at each port that Justine will be on, but it is not included and is completely optional to join.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely! Many of our guests are solo travelers looking to connect with fellow book-loving women. We create plenty of opportunities to meet new friends through our literary mixers and shared experiences. If you’d like our help finding a roommate, fill out our Roommate Finder Questionaire.

Can I bring my partner/spouse/a non-reading friend to room with?

Yes! Justine’s husband Alex will be joining us. Roommates along for the ride will not receive a reading swag bag, but are more than welcome to enjoy the cruise with us!

What should I pack?

Besides your current reads? Casual resort wear for daytime, a few chic options for evenings (perfect for those dinner pics!), and your favorite swimwear! Virgin Voyages has a relaxed luxury vibe – no formal nights required, just your personal style. Oh! And don’t forget your passport!

What if I prefer e-books or audiobooks?

We celebrate ALL reading styles! Bring your e-reader, headphones, physical books – whatever helps you lose yourself in a story. Plus, the ship’s WiFi is included, so you can always download that new release everyone’s talking about.

Will there be time to enjoy the ship and destinations?

Definitely! We’ve designed this retreat to offer the perfect balance of structured literary events and free time to explore, relax, or read at your leisure. Plenty of time for both reading AND creating those envy-inducing vacation moments.

What kind of readers typically attend?

Our community is made up of women in their 30s and 40s (many child-free by choice) who love contemporary fiction, thrillers, romance, book club picks, and whatever titles are creating a buzz online – but all reading preferences are welcome!
