Walt Disney World Resort Tiers

Do you have a Walt Disney World vacation coming up but are having a hard time deciding which resort to book? The Disney resorts on property are all incredible. Depending on your budget you may want to consider different tiers of resorts. Value resorts offer basic amenities at a reasonable rate. Moderate resorts add a little more luxury and Disney magic for a little more money. Deluxe resorts are top tier, on par with 4-star resorts. Deluxe Villas are almost all associated with a Deluxe resort but come with kitchen amenities as well as private bedrooms and separate living spaces. If you’re feeling a little extra adventurous (or maybe a little strapped for cash) there is also a campground on the Disney property!

Why Stay at a Disney World Resort?

You’ll find buses, boats, and monorails that can take you between resorts, parks and Disney Springs (a downtown style shopping center with lots of evening entertainment and restaurants as well as upscale shopping). By staying on property you’ll be able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours (an extra hour in the morning before the park opens or in the evening after the park closes for resort guests only). You’ll also be eligible to book a Disney Dining Plan. A few other perks include: free transportation to and from Orlando International Airport, guaranteed entrance to the parks (in case of capacity issues), advanced dining reservations, package delivery to rooms and ability to charge things within the parks to your room. Free wifi is also available at all of the resorts.

Disney Value Resorts

Disney’s All Star Movies, Disney’s All Star Music, Disney’s All Star Sports, Disney’s Pop Century, and Disney’s Art of Animation are the 5 Value Resorts at Walt Disney World. These resorts offer basic rooms with 2 queen beds that accommodate up to 4 adults and some have family suites that can accommodate up to 6 adults. You’ll find quick services food courts at these resorts which are great for grabbing a quick bite in the morning on your way to the parks! If you’re planning to spend most of your time in the park and just need a place to rest your head and maybe hang by the pool, these resorts are great options! Fun Fact: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is often referred to as Value Plus. It’s the nicest and newest of the value resorts and the themed family suites are well loved!

Moderate Resorts

Disney’s Caribbean Beach, Disney’s Coronado Springs, Disney’s Port Orleans- Riverside, Disney’s Port Orleans- French Quarter, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge are all of the Moderate Resort options at Walt Disney World. These resorts have quick service food options as well as table service food options. They are slightly larger than the value resorts, which may mean more walking to get to bus stops and dining options. The rooms are a little larger, and some rooms can sleep up to 5 adults. If you’re looking to spend a day or two at the resort or by the pool, you may enjoy the atmosphere and themes at these resorts.

You’ll also have incredible convenience to the parks, some are even in walking distance of certain parks. Some rooms at these resorts can sleep up to 5 adults. If you’re planning a long stay at Walt Disney World with equal time in the parks and hanging at the resort, the Deluxe resorts are the perfect option.
