Disney Villains After Hours- Is it worth the price?

If you’re a Disney Villains fan, or a Disney park junkie, you’re probably wondering if the ticketed Disney Villains After Hours events are worth the price. I hear you. Disney is already pricey, so why add on one more cost? Well let me tell you, after hours events in general are worth the additional cost, but the Villains event is WELL worth the cost! We had so much fun at the first Disney Villains After Hours event in 2020.

How much is a ticket?

A special event ticket for the Villains After Hours Event is $145. Keep in mind there are discounts for DVC members and AP holders!

What’s Included?

For the price of the Villains After Hours event ticket, you get access to Magic Kingdom from 7pm until 3 hours after closing (either 12am or 1am). Popcorn, Mickey Ice Cream Bars, Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches, Fruit Bars, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Water are all included, just find a snack cart and ask for what you like! They may ask to see your special event wrist band. You can ride any ride that’s open, enjoy any attraction, and there are two special events once the park closes! There is a villains stage show which is delightful (keep reading for more info and pictures!) as well as a villains parade! There’s also a DJ on the stage in front of the castle before and after the stage show and parade (which each happen twice a night) for fun dance parties!

Villains Stage Show

The Stage Show during the Villains After Hours event was honestly the highlight of the night. Meg and Hades from Disney’s Hercules start the night off, and are soon joined by Jafar, The Evil Queen, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent. As each villain takes the stage, they change the projection on the castle. The music, dancing and jokes are outstanding. it was so much fun!

Villains Parade

Of course, there are plenty of other fabulous villains who aren’t a part of the stage show during Villains After Hours events. Gaston, Cruella, Lady Termaine, Oogie Boogie and more join the event in the Villain’s parade! While there are no official meet and greets with the villains, there are some great photo opportunities if you watch the parade! It’s nice and slow moving. Gaston even stops and poses, encouraging the crowd to take his photo.

Special Villainous Rides

During the Villains After Hours events, once the park has closed, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain have some villainous surprises added to the rides. You may spot a villain in the queue or along the ride chatting and complaining (as Disney villains do).

So is it worth it?

In my opinion, the Villains After Hours Events are worth the price of the special event ticket. We entered the park at 7pm and stayed until 11:45pm. In fact, it was the only time we spent in Magic Kingdom on our week long trip. We rode all of our favorite rides (Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, and Pirates a second time once it had the added villains) plus we watched the stage show and parade. We didn’t feel rushed at all. The wait times on most rides were between 5 and 10 minutes except for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train which was a 20 minute wait. We enjoyed ice cream, popcorn, and a few drinks.

Additional Things to Buy

Of course, this is Disney, and Disney loves giving you opportunities to spend more money! They had some great exclusive Villains swag for the Villains After Hours Event and some additional treats you could purchase. We did buy some swag, but stuck to the free snacks.
